Ford Focus, Fusion, and Fiesta DPS6 Transmission Problems

TRANSMISSION STALLING, LOSS OF POWER, SLAMMING INTO GEAR

Ford has problems with DPS6 transmissions for the Ford Focus, Fusion, and Fiesta models, with the introduction of its dual clutch transmission. Ford calls it the PowerShift transmission. There have been complaints of unusual noise, stalling, loss of power, slipping and hesitation, and delay when shifting, then slamming into gear. I started seeing these cases in 2012. As the transmissions have gotten older, the symptoms have gotten worse. We now get reports of transmission slipping, then surging when the transmission suddenly "catches". If you have had problems with the transmission for these and other problems, and Ford has been unable to repair them, you may qualify for a refund under the California Lemon Law.
